How loud do you listen to stock w/navi?

Someone on another thread said something about putting the audio on "5" to drown out the rattles (lol btw). I wondered, how loud do you all listen to your stereo on the average. I am not sure if he means 5 bars or the number 5. I listen to my FM on about 20-21 and CDs are at about 17. This is my "normal listening level. Is this in line with your TSX?

Radio (AM & FM) -- Usually only about 15.
CD -- Varies according to kind of music. Usually around 20.

I listen to cassette a lot, usually classical music, and I have to set the volume A LOT higher for this, usually about 30, sometimes max (40).

mmm, if i had my FM on 15 at 40mph, there is no way i could hear it. And if i listen to my CD higher than comfortable level of FM I would be deaf.

BTW -- Is it like there's really a difference in the stereos between Nav and non-Nav? I wouldn't have thought so.

Me neither. I just thought that MAYBE with the non-navi you just see bars not numbers.

15-25 depending on the mood. When the windows are down, it can get up to 33 or so.

Can't hear much at 5. I'll typically listen from 15-25, but also have it on 40 frequently.

With the stock speakers I lestened around 15-20.
I just swapped the stock speakers for Alpines and now listen around 20-30.
BTW-Swapping the stock speakers has made the system amazingly enjoyable!!!

If find the stock system doesn't really "light up" until around 12 or so (with CD). Softer than that and you really can't hear all of the elements of the music. That's a little louder than I would like it for driving with a passenger and talking, but a little low for the freeway when I'm alone (and singing).

BTW, the quote I am referring to was from Bass Mechanic in Car Problems and Fixes topic.

He said "i dont mean to sound harsh but with all thoes rattles im sure the dealer would have noticed some of them. maybe you should turn the stereo up to about volume 5 and forget about it?"

Thinking he counts bars?

Must depend on the music and if you're half deaf already . There's some stuff I typically listen to at 30-40, but its generally CD's that don't create deafening sound. (flamenco, classical) When listening to the radio or for example a rock CD, I'll probably have it in the 20's.
