theres probally a DYI on here but, pull your arm rest open, pull console wood off starting at the arm rest.then look inside your arm rest there is a couple of screws that you take out.then unscrew the screw you see where the woods were in the console.the rear half will come off.then take off the sides of the console.pop trim ring around the shifter off.unscrew the other screw in the console and radio.Put your car in drive or as far awy from the radio as you can no should should be able to get the radio out without scraping your shifter knob. You might also have to pull on the dash bezel where the ac controls are to pop the clips to get the extra clearence needed to remove.
I havent removed my radio in a couple months but thats what I remember.

sorry to hijack this thread, but i didn't feel i needed a new thread to get this answered.

I have an 03TL w/ stock hu etc, and I have a somewhat older Sony Xplod h.u. that I want to put in. So, of course, I know I need to buy an installation kit so I can fit it in that big ass space, where my current p.o.f.s. jammed h.u. is right now(imagine that).
Anyway, can someone post a link to another thread as to where it tells you where to buy these? I'm not quite sure which one I'll need to get. From what I've read, I'll want to get a single DIN, correct? That's all I will need?
Anything else, part wise, that I'll need while installing?

thanks

er, 1 last question about these: do you know of one that i could buy at a local store (best buy, walmart, target, etc?)
i have no problem with online retailer. it's just that i'm impatient & hate paying shipping tax.

Some Best Buy stores might have it. Some stores stock what others don't so just give them a call. They carry the kit made by Scosche. Part number AA1574B
