How can I get more mid-bass?
Alright guys, This has been pissing me off for a while and I finally need some help. First off I'll list what I've got:
Alpine CDA 7878 Deck (This was an open box item, but I doubt it has anything to do with it)
Xtant 4004 amp for speakers
FRONT: Kenwood Exelon 6.5" Components (Purple ones with Neodymnium Magnets)
REAR: KEnwood Exelon 6X9's 3-way (Silver ones)
Directed Audio 600D Sub Amp
Eclipse 10" Aluminum sub
The most expensive Monster Cable speaker wire and RCA's
1 Farad Capacitor
Crossovers all set at lowest settings
These speakers don't even have as much bass as the stock ones. Is there something that I am doing wrong? Or is it the speakers or what? Do you guys know of anything that would add some kick to my stuff? I mostly listen to metal like old Metallica, Iced Earth, King Diamond, Sepultura and stuff like that, so I need as much mid-bass as possible. Thanks for the help.

Well, you might consider getting an equalizer so you can adjust the levels at different frequencies. The 6.5s should put out ample mid-bass. How much power are you running to them?

Yeah, I was thinking about getting an EQ or something. The Xtant is 50 watts RMS a channel. I have the gain up almost half way. The speakers say that they handle 180 watts. I assume thats peak power. So rms would be about 127 watts. But maybe it's peak to peak which would make rms about 64 watts. If that is so, then the amp would be just right. Thanks.
