How to add Auxilary input to Acura 2003 TL radio?

Hi - Thank you in advance for your help.
I'd like to add an auxilary input to my Acura 2003 TL radio. I was told by Crutchfield it can't be done on 2003 models but 2004 and later models can. However, I've seen various adapter vendors such as: PIE, PAC, and Blitz that they can do. I'm not concern much about iPod connection, just 3.5 mm stereo plug for my mp3player. I tried a tape cassett adapter and FM transmitter but the frequency response is poor.

I would appreciate your advice if you have done it with what adapter/model.

Thanks again,
Tham.

blitzsafe is the way to go as long as you don't have a factory external cd changer. if not then it just plugs into the back of the head unit and you're good to go

Hi 99AcuraTL03,

Thanks for the info on BlitzSafe. I went to their web site and could not locate a model that will work for my Acura 2003 TL. Do you have the model number? I DO NOT have external CD changer and there is NO ext. CD button to select on the radio front panel.

Thank you in advance,
tham1226.

I found it on there, and there's quite a few models for it as well.

Don't know the model number but it should be there. all you have to do is hit the cd button twice and you'll be onto your aux input

Any auxilary options work if you do have the external 6-disc changer?

none that I know of. If you don't use it you can always unplug it and replace it with the blitzsafe

Can you explain this man? At the risk of sounding like a total newb (am one at this stuff) does the HU pop-open or what?

no lol but don't worry there have been bigger newbs. The adapter plugs into the back of the headunit. If you're a true newb and can't work some screw drivers then I suggest finding a professional installer and having them plug it in. There is only one socket in the back of the headunit that the plug will fit into so it's basically impossible to screw up.
