HOTHOTHOT please fill me in!

Is is normal for my amp to heat up to the point that i don't wanna touch it? i was checking it out today and found it quite hot after playing... the my kenwood amp has a little triangle red light above the "W". When i turn the bass up to pound hard... each pound tends to make the red light dim alittle... anyone can help me out with this?

Sounds like you overload your amp. Turn the gain control (on the amp) down and take it easy with the volumn (head unit)

23wt:
Amps do get hot...that happens, especially with passively cooled amps. Is your amp cutting out or distorting? If not you're ok on the overloading (clipping) front. Have you given it a nice thick + and gnd cable? If so then your light dimming problem is probably not wiring. It may be just power consumption...though if you only have that one 350W amp I seriously doubt it. I'd check the wiring for that light dimming issue. And never bring the amp's gain over 75%.

also someone told me not to turn the bass inside all the way up but instead adjust it with amp.... cause it might affect the RCA wires.... but right now i have amp on 50% and i adjust from inside... sometimes 4-max clicks for bass depending on song...
