Home Audio Question
I have a small room (130 sq.ft.) that I use for my TV room. I am building a shelving unit for the AV stuff to the one wall. I have tower speakers that are ported out the front for my front left/right channel. I hope to build in space for the towers in the shelving unit so that they would be flush with the front of the unit and not take up any floor space in the room. Is it acceptable from an acoustic standpoint to have the speakers recessed in the wall. I know rear ported stuff has to sit out from the wall, but these are front ported.
Or. Am I kidding myself that I am worried about acoustics in such a small room.
BTW. This looks like mostly car audio, but I dont want to post in Ramblings...

Sure, people use in-wall speakers all the time, so I don't know why putting your tower in an opening wouldn't work. I'd be worried about the bass getting a little too strong, but as long as the new shelves are sturdy I'll bet it'd sound find.
I did the same thing in my tv room on a smaller scale. I use Event 20/20 monitors as my speakers, and I built a cabinet to hold all the electronics and front speakers--sounds great.
