Hiss

I have this hissing noise form all my speakers except the sub when the volume is low. When I turn the volume up it goes away. I have a kenwood X650D 5 channel amp with xcelon front speakers and Pioneer 4 wah 6x9's. I have ground loop isolators to each input channel. I also hear a poping noise when I press the button to open the trunk. Any Idea on whats wrong or is this normal?

Sounds like something isn't grounded well...

Tell us more about how you have this hooked up. Are you using the stock deck still? If so, how did you hook the amps to it?

I still have the stock head unit. I am taking the signal for the Kenwood amp at the stock amp just before it gets to the amp. Signal retuns to the stock amp then back to the speakers. I used Silver Knights template.

Just to clarify,

You are taking the signal from the headunit BEFORE it enters the stock amp? Did you put RCA plugs on those wires?

Is your kenwood amp running all of your speakers?

Where did you put the signal from the kenwood amp back into the stock amp? (Unless I'm understanding you wrong, this may be your problem)

Does it hiss or does it whine? If it is a high pitch whining that varies with the engine rpm then you would need a ground loop isolator which is available at Radio Shack for 14.99. When putting in the isolator, if it doesn't work, try to the reverse it. I resolved several cases of alternator whine with it.
