HID and Speaker Question
HID and Speaker Question
My driver side HID light is slightly lower than the passenger side HID, which is somewhat annoying. The dealer is telling me that this is by design, in order not to shine in the eyes of the oncoming driver. Is this a fact? I would like to have them adjusted so that there is a single horizon effect.
Also my rear deck speakers are producing practically no sound. Are these speakers designed to just produce bass or should I expect a full range of sound from these speakers?

I noticed the lights being a little off when I first drove my TSX at night and wondered the same thing. But I think the salesperson is right and it's intended to be that way from the factory.
Yep, the rear deck speakers produce bass only.

I'm not sure about the speakers, but check your settings to make sure that the front/rear fade effect isn't causing this problem.
As for the HIDs, the reflector in the drivers side light actually has a step down in it. It would be impossible to get one horizontal line. Someone here actually took the time to disassemble one of the lights and you can run a search and should be able to see the picture of the reflector.

1) They are designed to only play bass. Asking them to play mids would result in lousy-sounding midrange. They won't play highs at all (no tweets).
2) The amp they are connected to is a 6-channel amp. The F and R doors get mids and highs, and the rear deck gets bass. There is NO full-range output on the amp.
So to really get full-range, you would need to replace the amp, which has been done, and at that point you should probably replace the speaks too.
All that to have full-range 6x9 sound... sounds like way too much work to moi.
