Hi, I've got a Ker-raazy Question.
Okay, at least once a week I look into the trunk of my TSX and say, " this sucks, theres no good place to put a sub enclosure and amp. Anyways, I was just wondering, would it be anyway possible to put 10 inch aftermarket subs where the crappy 6x9's go? I realize it would require a lot of work such as sawing the crap out of your car, but theoretically, would it work? I look forward to your replies, thanks!

But some of us need more space for golf clubs and such. I'm getting rid of my 12" box and amp because of that reason. If I didn't golf it wouldn't be an issue.

Yup, so would it be "impossible," (sorry im having trouble absorbing this =P). Even the 8 inch subs wouldn't work.
Jiggaman, basically i feel that there isn't a good place to put all this audio equipment w/o sacrificing something else, for example, the rear seats fold down. If i put an enclosure in the back with the amp, I would lose the rear seats fold down capability. Behind the tailights would be nice but I am not sure if there is adequate space in the rear of the sub for optimal sound performance. Essentially, putting the subs where the 6x9's are would give you all the benefits without losing anything else.

Get rid of the torsion bars altogether. Then rig up a double hinged hydraulic system right at the trunk supports. Voila...area cleared. So it's possible, but you'll have to do some fabbing.
You'd also probably have to brace the back deck to support the sub weight and bass impacts (reduce distortion).
On the other hand..if you want to be ghetto, you can remove your spare and put in a 12" instead! :blaze:

I could just be happy with the 6x9's.
