Open your armrest, and pull out the plastic wood up trim from that end of it. It comes of fairly easily.
Look inside te armest, there are 2 screwes that hold it down, uncrew that.
Everything else should be fairly easy as the screws hold everything down from the armrest all the way up to the stereo. It'll be work, you gotta unscrew everything.

if your talking about removing the stereo of 2001 cl, it's a big pain in the ass. there are other ways to get the serial number. try this method first....a couple of phone calls. http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...+serial+number . they should be able to give you the code and serial number. good luck.
If you got it from a dealer, then it's their problem to get it for you. You are intitled to it for free. If it was from a private party, contact them & have them look for it. Also look in the entire owners manual booklet. Take everything out go through all the pages, maybe it's in there somewhere. It just a little piece of thin flat paper. It could easly stick to a page in some owners booklet
If it's still under warranty, the other options would be to
A: jam a few cd's in the radio so it wouldn't spit them out. The go to acura with the problem & have them fix it. They will need to disconnect the battery to test it. When they do, they will see they don't have the code, thus make them take the radio out to get it.
B: Get some warranty work done that requires the disconection of the battery. They will have no choice but to get the radio code for you. After all all if your radio worked before they touched it, it should work after.
I really don't see why they would charge you in the first place. I mean if it's lost it's not your fault.
