Help me pick an AMP

I am trying to choose between a Kicker amp or a Rockford fosgate amp.

Could you please go to this link and tell me if Rockford is really worth the extra 100 bucks.

Thanks

Click to go to Comparison link.

way too much for either amp, and you're not looking at what would be considered highend amplifiers....

Well, Actually, I am not planning on paying these prices. I am planning on buying them on EBAY. THe kicker would cost me 238 and fosgate would be 338. I am wondering if the fosgate is worth the extra 100 bucks.

personally i would take rockford fosgate over kicker any day but there are alot of other amps out there that are better than these and around the same price.... look at the phoenix gold tantrum series ... or maybe even crossfire... but personally i like the tantrum amps...

As a Rockford Dealer, and previous KICKER dealer, I would say go with KICKER....

That Rockford has a 24dB per octave slope on the LPF?!?!?! Don't buy that thing unless you want a drastic cut off at your subs tuned freq...

I would go withthe Kicker. It has a fan, and the THD/SNR isn't far enough off the RF to be worth 100 more.

RF used to be the bad ass 7-8 years ago, before others were really making good equip. Now the competition is stiff, and RF seemingly is still trying to pull top dollar.

Yeah, i agree... Go with the Rockford, but when your amp gets sent in for service, please buy another one from me...

I'm not suprised that an installer would not like KICKER... KICKER amps ground through the Chassis and if your not careful when mounting the amps, you get noise. The easiest way to do it is to mount the amp to wood, then to the car. I don't care what name has the best reputation, but I do care about which amps sound good, and especially which amps last, so I don't buy Rockford, and neither do my friends.... For me, that means a lot, especially knowing that I get them at an incredible deal, but pay more so that I can get quality products....

hey thanks a lot guys for good advice. But I decided to spend more money and go with something much better. I decide to get a JL Audio 5 channel amp. Along with real nice MB Quart components. I decided to look at my car stereo as an investment, and buy the best, or close to it.

i think @ those prices, i think kicker is the better choice, because that's pretty good amount of power for lil amount of money...but with a lil more $$$ than ur RF you will be looking @ JL, PG, ARC, PPI, Orion...
