HELP!! Grounding my head unit

HELP!! Grounding my head unit

hey,.. ive just bought a new head unit for my 98 civic. I was just wondering if its better to ground it via the wiring harness or to blot it to the dash frame?? there is a spot for a ground on my wiring harness,.. shoud i hook it up there?

any help is appreciated! thanks

use the harness

Just use the harness, makes no difference. Only time that comes into effect is when your installing multiple amps for high SPL competitions and every amp and volt counts.

Agreed. Unless you run into any noise issues, the factory ground wire should be fine.

Its fine to use the factory ground in most cases. There is a *chance* that you will get noise with your aftermarket HU that you didn't get with the factory HU. Usually you will be OK though.

I personally don't bother wasting my time hooking up the factory ground to find out...I always wire my own the first time around.
