help amp/sub problem

alright i have a kicker 500.2 and have two 12' visonik in a bandpass box. It is hooked up in brigded mono mode at 4ohms. My amp and sub get power but everytime i turn the radio on it decides to flicker back and forth into protection mode, so you will hear the subs go for abouy a half second then shut off again, when i looked at the amp it looked as if every time the subs hit the power drains, i could see the red glow dim, then brighten again when it went back into protection mode. i think it might be that my battery or alternator just doesnt give out enough juice to my amp. while this happens no other lighting in the car dims or flickers. does anyone have any idea whats happenin. I Have a 1997 3.0 CL and im lost when it comes to car stero, but if anyoen neeeds any tips on any type of Dj equipment hit me up i know all about that. Thanks

Just on radio or CD too? What gauge power wire are you using, and does it go directly to the battery? Also, what gauge is your ground wire, how long is it, and where does it terminate in teh car?

YOUR amp is 2ohm stereo and 4ohm mono. you cannot bridge 2 single voice coil 4ohm speakers on a stereo amp. if you do, you will get a 1ohm load. if your amp was, which it is not, a mono amp, then you could bridge your 2 speakers. but you can run your single voice coil 4ohm speakers in a series-bridge mode.
you will get 2ohm mono load. the speakers will sound alot better.
your amp should not clip with 2ohm mono. it will be fine.

hey everyone thanks for the help, everything you guys said was probably true, but the problem was that my subs were blown ooops, i got them replaced by two 12 inch kicker comp vr's and man do they pump, much better then that visonik shit they were rated for 300 watts but i cooked them with the kicker amp so im guessin they were pieces of shit subs i also had the visonik v3909 amp which sucked cause i kept blowin fuses in my car so if anyone decides to get visonik shit dont cause it sucks i mad a really expansive mistake dont take after me, all there stuff looks real good but thats about it but anyways thanks for all the help peace
