Exclamation Help with 03 Acura CL Deck

I need to know where the amp is in the Stock Bose system. I am trying to hook up another deck but I can not get any sound from the speakers and someone told me that I need to bypass the amp for the bose system. Any help would be very much appriciated! I have an 03 Acura cl.

Do you have a metra wiring harness?

It is a common misconception that you need to bypass the bose amp. You don't need to bypass the amp with a metra wiring harness.

This is true. You can just turn the BOSE amp on and pipe right into it.

However..... If you plan to use the many audio tweaking functions of your new deck you will want to bypass the amp. If the car were mine I would definately bypass. The amp is in the trunk. Right rear. I think....

However..... If you bypass the amp you will need to replace your front and rear speakers. The factory BOSE speakers are 2 ohm and will cause your new deck to perform poopy, overheat ond shut down.

Have fun and good luck!!

the amp is behind the plastic trunk lining on the passenger side of the trunk.. you will need to remove it and it is bolted outwards... good luck...

Please don't tear into the trunk and amp. The issue is not that the amp needs bypassed. You will only create more work for yourself.

However you have it setup now is wired incorrectly. It is not a amp issue.

Are you sure it does not need to be bypassed? I hae put in a totally new deck with a DVD player and 2 amps, crossover etc. The DVD player comes on but the brain for the player wont nor will any sound come from the speakers. From previosu readings they have said that the amp needs to be bypassed?? We will probably end up changing all the speakers as well. So you suggest not bypassing the amp in the trunk? There was a green wire that said "power antenna" someone told me it can be a ground and then another told me it is a power line. I am totally confused now!!! I need help!

What do the 2 amps push? Subs and the stock speakers?

Is everything brand new?

Well the brain powers just about everything..

You need to get the brain to power on first and foremost before you can even start troubleshooting..

Make sure you have the wiring diagrams for everything..

The radio/tv/brain. The Metra wiring harness and the link I gave has the schematics for the stock system. Sometimes it's not as easy as connecting color to color.. You may need them to troubleshoot.
