MDX: Head Unit Remote Turn ON signal
Head Unit Remote Turn ON signal
I have a 2G MDX with ELS sound system and while trying to find a remote turn on signal to turn on/off my aftermarket amp when the head unit turns on/off, I tapped into the rear sub-woofer connector. Here is the picture:

Before testing it out myself and looking at the diagram I could swear the white wire in the middle was the remote turn on that trigger the sub amp to turn on/off. However, after seem an spark while connecting the fuse for the aftermarket amp connection I realized that wasn't the case. The is always a 12 v signal on this wire while the key is on ACC independently of whether the Head unit is on or off. I did some testing with a multi-meter and both white wires have 12 V when the key is on ACC and don't care about the head unit being on or off. I confirmed my theory after looking at the diagram:

Why does this connector have two wire wire that are always hot when the key is on acc?
Is there a remote signal coming from this head unit?
