Hardwire Radar Detector - Radio Interference

I hardwired radar detector to mirror power (Escort 8500) and noticed when I turn it on it effects radio stations sometimes. Any one else notice this? I tried grounding with a screw and then with the ground for the mirror and still the same. Any comments or suggestions?

I have V1 hardwired, with power and ground from the mirror, it has no effect on my radio.

In my area the stations are hard to tune in without the detector on but once I turn it off the ones having problems come in clear. It's an Escort Solo S2 (battery powered) but have an Escort 8500 X50 on coming so will see if the new one acts the same. I plan to test the lighter adapter later to see if that has the same effect to the radio stations.

I tested with smartcord that comes with Escort Detector and same issue. I will be getting a new Escort X50 and hope that this doesn't happen. Will post the results once I get it and test it out. My TSX doesn't have the NAV system so not sure if different radios make a difference.

I too have a V1 hardwired to the mirror power and ground with no problems. Must either be that the unit is susceptible to noise or it has a bad ground.
