I'd put a fuse block under the hood near the battery, and wire it directly to the + terminal of the battery. Size the fuse 50% more than the maximum current draw of the inverter, to allow for the inrush when you turn it on.

Like he said, run a cable from the battery to a fuse to the relay (with or without depending) to the invertor. There are a few ways you may want to set this up depending on what u want. Watever setup u use just make sure that dont drain ur battery.

I wired a power inverter to the center console cigaretter lighter adapeter. I took apart the console and spliced it into the connector so that I can still use the cigarette lighter for my cell phone. After that, I mounted the inverter under the passenger seat so that you can't see that it's connected unless you plug something into it.

What gauge wire do you plan to use? How big of an inverter is it?

i did what he did.. but put it under the driver's side.. ps2 is under passenger side
wires come out from under the sides of the center console so its hard to see the inverter
