Did you connect the unit's e-brake wire to the brake wire and THEN ground it?
'Cause if so, that would be wrong.
You should EITHER connect it to the ebrake wire in the car (like the manual says), OR ground it. Not both.

lol aight, ok i went to my mechanic alright, he played around with it a little (its a green wire next the ebrake), did sumthing with it , now the ebrake light is on but the brake is not down, and it seems to be playing dvd and everything fine, im wondering if the e brake light is supposed to be on while driving, and if its not then what do i have to do with that green wire to turn the ebrake light off?

He's 16. What do you expect from someone who probably isn't even a junior in high school yet?
How did you get all this money for all these modifications? If I were you, I would concentrate on school and not on modifying your car to play DVDs while driving. I'll make sure to steer clear of the town that you live in. I would hate to be on the road with a brand new driver who is watching DVDs while driving.

OK, it sounds like you are trying to fool the AVIC into thinking the ebrake is on when it's not on.
That means you don't connect to the ebrake wire in the car AT ALL.
You take the ebrake INPUt from the AVIC and connect it to ground.
Your ebrake wire in the car is somehow connected to ground - possibly thorugh your AVIC wire's connection to ground - and if you are trying to fool the AVIC into working when it shouldn't (i.e., while you're driving!) then don't connect the AVIC to the brake wire at all.
You do know how to ground a wire after you've separated these two, right?

Calm the f*ck down, kid. If you're so smart, why are you asking for our help to break the law?
Guess they'll sue your parents, since you're a minor. Did you buy your car with your money? Is it your loan? Just wondering, since you brought it up...
Have you figured out how to ground the right wire without grounding the wrong wire?

I alrady did, dumbass - you're just so wound up that you missed it. Unless you seriously don't know what "ground" is in a car?
I think you just used up your free help for the day - now you have to call 1 900 kiss my 39-year-old ass...
There's no right way to do something stupid...

Yeah calm down man......If you want to get help, then this isn't the way to go about it.
You keep mentioning a light that is coming. Are you taking about the ebrake light next to your speedometer on your dash?
Because there is not an ebrake indicator light on the Pioneer N1 unit.
Are you saying that the ebrake light on your dash in coming on eventhough the ebrake is not engaged?

i agree with the 16 year old on this one. if ya didnt have anythin to help the thread, there was no need for your post. it just fuked up the thread didnt it?
here is your answer: try to understand it bro.
tell your dumbshit mechanic not to connect the ebrake wire from the avic-n1 to the cars ebrake. just ground it. how? the main wire harness that comes out the the avic-n1 has a BLACK wire. connect the ebrake wire from the avic-n1 to that ground wire and put it all back together. make sense? the answer to your q is in this thread. just calm down, dont worry about the idiot posters. your right, they just jealous.

Here is how you ground a wire. . .
Take the cable, in most cases the ground is red, then take the second ground which is probably black and simultaneously shove them up yo' ass!
lol, i just wanted to get you more worked up.
Now, take a deep breath and RELAX--- and remember, dont watch and drive!
You should be grateful for the help you got and stop being so damn angry.
All this talk about getting sued made me paranoid-- dont put those two wires together, and dont put them up ur ass.

Eld - if i had a high school english teacher that sounded like that, i would have paid a lot more attention.
Meldy - you probably shouldn't be doing the work yourself it those instructions don't make sense to you. Either way, calm down. If you don't like people's responses on here, don't post your question 10 times. The AVIC comes with an instruction manual..
