ground issue?????

ground issue?????

alright i have what i think is a grounding problem......when i'm just sitting there and the car is not moving i getting some noise only out of the sub....its like feedback if i pause the cd or turn the volume down completely i get like a hum of bass like if the music was still on....but when i hit the gas the sound stops.....i'm not sure what it is.....

Sounds like an RCA problem. Maybe pinched or cut. An amp will make those noises when something is inconsistant with the input lines. Check those RCA cables.

but wouldn't the noise be constant if it was an input problem.....the noise completely stops when i accelerate even a little.....just touching the gas enough for the rpm needle to move slightly and the noise stops.....

Definately an input issue. Check every inch of that RCA cable.

An amplifier does not make an audible reaction because of power loss. If you are physically hearing an audible reaction, the cause is in the audio path. Either before or after the amp. From your description it sounds like the amplifier is receiving the noise. It could be as simple as something touching the RCA outputs on the back of the deck.

damn your good i was taking apart the car for something esle and i had to drop the head when i did i noticed the noise stop....just so happens i had the car on.....so i played a little bit with the cables and noticed the RCAs touching the just about everything....so i moved em problem solved.....and just in case they move again i wrapped em in a little electrical tape....thanks for the help.....
