A grand and half to spend

Alright my buddy has around $1,500 to spend on a sound system. What would you guys prefer. He wants the best bang for the buck. Something with Low crisp bass.

He needs a Sub or two and amp to push them.
Component speakers - two 6.5's and two tweeters and an amp to push them

Later he'd like to add a DVD player and flip down screen.

Can you guys give me some ideas here. Thanks.

if u somehow manage to get all that under budget, then its gonna be a garbage system.... ur buddy is either going to have have to figure out what he wants most, subs, components, or DVD, cuz its going to be any combination of the two.... shit if u want a decent DVD, screen combo it could easily eat up that whole budget

no, he wants the system first, and the Dvd player and stuff later.
The 1,500 dollars is for a system right now.
Sorry that i didn't make myself clear.

check out www.conceptconcept.com for some ideas. Concept is one of the top competition brands. They have come out with a new line of amps, so the older ones have been sold for great prices on ebay. their 2400 watt amp is close to your total budget on their website but can be picked up new for $299.99 or just over $350 but sooooooo worth it. I have a Concept D-1200 (guys are powering 5 15's off this amp with no problem) - half the power of the D-2400 - and I paid 400 american shipped to Canada from PEN state. Well worth my money - and now I see the 2400 watt for 299!!!

Their subs are incredible power and quality which is rare because you tend to give up one for the other. get you rbuddy to check out the concept page, and then try to find as much as you can through a dealer on ebay. Concept is really good with warranty work, if it doesn't work within three years, send it back, for a new one for free!

id go with one JL 10 or 12W6V2, with a JL 500.1. I believe you can find the sub for around 300 and the amp for around 400, that leaves you 800 for everyhting else. Which you couls prob manage not counting a head unit.
