got virus/spyware from classified site
I don't remember witch one but, either CA,caraudioforum.org,or car audio classifieds gave me virus's and spyware.
Was searching around last night and when I went to the site it said :this site has spyware and some s#@!,to leave.
I did. 15 minutes later and I'm getting all kinds of pop up saying everything you dont want to hear like some is trying to access your credit card info.
Dont know if I should go buy some programs and fix myself or just go drop off.
Kinda bugging since I use my computer for everything.
Anyway I thought I would throw a heads up to everyone else so you pc is not violated too.

I get Firefox warnings when on CACO, but I have Avast, and it's never gone off or thrown up any red flags or anything. Just annoying to have to click the "Ignore this warning" whenever I want to change pages on CACO.

my lap top is 2-3 months old and had all the trail versons of norton security stuff.
It just ran out.
I will be droping it off today sometime today since no matter what why I tried to access anything sercurityrelated.
Like a rouge fake security program keeps blocking anything and want me to subscribe with my CC to fix the problem.
So I looked at the propertys and the program was created at the time where I went to that site.
So it's back to the old for now till that one's fixed.

It was from one of those sites for sure.
I haven't peeped no porn for months.
Probally before I even had the one that got the virus man.
I droped it off along with another.
The guy said he will fix it for 45 bucks.
and I told him about another I had and said he think windows needs to be reinstalled and since it was already there he would do that one for another 20.
what! that's crazy if he fixes 2 of them for 65.
900 of down computers for 65, We'll see.......

Come to think of it I've recently gotten the bugs on mine also. It's possible it's from the same place. I'm about to have my buddy reformat mine for me.

Wow. You have a habit of misunderstanding people.
Let me rephrase... why turn to a place that will charge you when people (like me) can walk you through how to fix these things yourself?

I just figured it would be easier to just drop it off and have someone fix it instead of buying this and that then taking a chance it did not work anyway then having to drop it off after the fail.
Last time I had a similar thing I went and bought some software and the virus would block every attempt to install it.
I also had a real issue trying to return a open computer program.
With that being said,
I did not want to mess with it.
only 65 bucks for 2.
seams like a win win in my shoes.

Best solution to deal with viruses is to use something (like "Avast!") which is preemptive, and best of all is FREE, thus updating or upgrading is a non-issue so you will actually keep it up to date.
Second thing is to create a rescue disc that simply deals with viruses on a boot-sector level instead of a Windows level. I know the viruses you are talking about, and they are nightmares for the unprepared.
One solution is to use Linux-based temporary Operating Systems to see the drive, and remove whatever has its tentacles in your computer. Linux doesn't execute files like Windows does therefore you won't see a virus in it, yet you will be able to see THEM.
The Firefox / Avast combo should render your computer pretty much bug-free. Consider it when you get your machine back. Free FTW.

CACO got their stuff squared away, and it's back up and running normally now.

well ,got the laptops back.
both running perfectly fine.
he hooked them up with malware bites, avg, everest and nero.
he said I should use nod or something like that.
Also the rouge program came from did come from one of those sites. It was created when I was browsing them.
I wish I remember witch one it was so I could just avoid that one.
Now even thou I'm probablly fine now,I'm very leary.

NOD32 is good.
You should create restore points and keep one handy, say once every 3 days or so (more if you are doing critical stuff each day.)
