Good cheap small 10" sub

Can someone recommend a good cheap single 10" sub that would take a very small box. Or an already boxed 10". I was going to get a basslink since I had good experience with them. I know it's not the loudest thing, but it's cheap.

I am using an Alpine 10E, it was like $69-79 at Car toys. Sounds good to me!

good and cheap are typically mutually exclusive. try jl 10w1v2 or one of the ed 10's. just don't expect 10w7 or high end performance without the high end price.

Most 10s will require at least .6cuft. if sealed and stuffed with fill, but prefer .7cuft or more. In general, as the box size decrease the 3dB down point (the point at which the low frequency is half the volume, or 13dB, of the curve's average) increases. For example, 8 in a .5cuft box may sound better than a 10 since the drive is made for a smaller box. I tested my 8" Pioneer Premiere in a .43cuft box with 1lb of fill and it sounded awesome, playing well below 50hz. (check my other posts). You also my want to consider a Solobaric sub. They can go in very small boxes, however they're all very inefficient and require much more power for the same output.

If you have some time, your best bet is to call tech support. Most makers have techs who will tell you if a driver will work well in a smaller box or not. Some will even try plugging in your suggested box size into their program to see the virtual results. I had a friend who worked at Pyle Driver and he loved trying to tweak box sizes for customers. He designed an enclosure for me once for a pair of 6 1/2" drivers in a fairly large 1cuft ported box. You would have swore they were 10s. Bottom line is a great driver in the wrong size box will usually sound worse than a cheap driver in a correct size box.

Cause it's cheap & I had one before I got another Basslink. For my needs it will be fine.
Thanks for the suggestions.
