im thinking to get viper 560vx with remote start. doesnt 98 2.3 Cl have factory anti-theft system that require that the key be present in the car to start? do i need something else the viper 560vx to install this alarm? because my friend is going to install my alarm for 100$ and he knows wut his doing.

 

if your car has a transponder on the key, (which i dont think the CL had it in 98) you will need something to bypass it. Directed sells a module called the 555U or 557U. You put a copy of your key in it and hide it under your dash, the module comes with instructions for installations. They also sell a 555H made for Honda vehicles, but many have gone bad at my job,so we dont even use it anymore. Hope that helps man
