Getting Power Direct from the Battery

Ok, I was wondering where everyone tapped for direct power to the Battery. I kinda have an idea where to route the wire through the firewall, but I wanted to know what everyone used for wire gauge (10 gauge / 8 gauge) and where to tap for the constant power? Did you also hook up a relay?

I'm looking for suggestions where I can get my power from.

i guess it all depends on what you are trying to accomplish... if you are thinking of hooking up an after market amp then i would hook the power up directly to the battery... if you are just looking for power for say a dvd player then i would find a spot in the fuse box to tape in... as far as wire size it depends on how much current you are drawing....

Depends on what you are running. My little BassLink has an 8 gauge power wire with a 60amp fuse going to the battery. Turn on is tapped off the yellow/black wire coming out the stock amp.

Look there to see how to route the wire from the battery.
