Finally started on install. Need advice.
Well, I finally started today with the 1 hour of daylight that I had.
I ran the speaker wire from the trunk up to the column that holds the seatbelt and sits between the front and rear doors. I can't seem to find a way to get around the factory wiring harness plug mounted on the chassis side to be able to fish the wire through to get to the door side.
I gave up since it was dark and the mosquitos were beginning to enjoy me a little too much.
If you've run speaker wires to the doors, how did you get around the factory wiring harness to get the wires to the door?
I'll be trying again tomorrow.
Thanks.

Are you refering to the back doors or front doors? When I did the back doors I had to unbolt the seatbelt system right at the bottom of the center pillar. Then I ran the wire from the inside of the door panel to the inside of the car. Used some vaseline to help the wire get through.....its a tight fit but will go through. The hardest part is getting through the rubber wire cover running between the door and the body, for that I took one end of the rubber cover off and then pased the wire through and put it back on. The front doors were done in a similar fashion from the inside of the door panels through the door, through the ruber cover, and into the body of the car......then I took a flashlight and looked under the dash to see where the wire came out and pulled it through. Hope this helps, I wsh I had pics but I did it last summer and didnt take any.

Thanks for the zip tie idea! I was racking my brain trying to think of something that was more flexible than a hanger yet stiff enough to push through whatever hole I can find.
I've got some mamby jamby sized zip ties from some other project I did God knows when. I'll give it a go!

Rear doors have been wired. Thanks for all of your tips/tricks. I ran wire up to the front doors but don't have time to run them into the door yet.
Hopefully I'll be able to get the rest of the system in soon.

let us know which method made it easiest to run that wire through the door. im sure alot of peeps would appreciate ur input.
as for my amp rack, i have pix of it at my site. here are a few that show it w/and w/out the seat.
when the back seat is put back it looks just like this
but the amps are closer and the amprack is angled to the back seat. that is what i dont pix of though. and since i took that rf 400a4, i cant take pix of it anymore. sorry.
i'll take pix of what it looks like right now, since im still using that rack to temporarily mount my new amp..but that location cant be used anymore, cause the amp is sooooooooooo huge...you'll see what i mean when the pix are up..jeje
