How do you tap into the XM preamp audio wires? I have an Accord with pretty much the same setup. What color are the wires for the XM to tap into? By "tap" do you mean just remove the outer plastic part of the wires (strip it down to the bare metal) and then run two wires from those wires into the switch? Where are the XM wires that I need to tap? Do they come from the navigation unit or somewhere else?

I have a 2004 Honda Accord with navigation, and I would like to add an AUX input also. Since the sound system is relatively the same in both the TL and Accord (in regards to the XM radio from the factory), the SHOND3 or any other adapters won't work because you would have to give up your XM radio, and I do not want to do that. I'm still waiting for someone to make a "Y" adapter with a switch so that I can switch back and forth between the XM radio and an AUX device.

I have the same problem with my 2004 Honda Accord. I don't want to lose the XM radio capability, but I would like to add an AUX device without using an FM modulator. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Reverse Engineering an AUX input for 2004 TL and Accord

I have a 2004 Honda Accord with navigation, and I would like to add a AUX input for my DVD player so that my passengers can watch DVDs on the navigation screen. I know that most of the adapters to add an AUX input won't work on the 2004 Accord and 2004 TL with XM radio because they need that port empty for them to work. I don't want to use the FM modulator that came with my avelectronic unit, and I don't want to lose the XM radio capability. I've also heard about tapping into the XM radio audio wires, but where in the trunk are the wires that I need to do this? Does someone have a wiring diagram? I heave searched and searched this forum, but no one can help me.

What about this scenario? What if we rip out the XM radio cable (14-pin connector I think) from the back of the headunit and plug this cable into an adapter so that it outputs RCA outputs? That way I could plug the XM radio RCA outputs into one of my AUX inputs on my avelectronic TV tuner, along with 2 other audio sources. Does anyone make a cable like this?

Moving to Audio Video, and you should post all your questions in one forum, preferably in the same thread, rather than posting part of the entire question in several different threads.

Have you also posted this in a Honda Forum?

I have also moved your postings in other threads here so they can all be answered in the same place.

FINALLY! Keeping XM and adding an AUX input!

I was on www.handa-accessories.com and I saw the installation instructions for a cassette, CD, and multimedia player for a 2004 Honda Accord (that's what I have). This cable is basically a 'Y' cable that goes in-between the XM 14-pin cable connector and the back of the headunit. I assume that this would work for the TL and 2005 TSX as well. I think this might work if you want to add an AUX input (RCA inputs). Basically you can then get an adapter from Soundgate or Blitzsafe and plug it into the bus cable 2-port to get a pair of RCA inputs for your stereo. I'm trying to do this for my Accord. Let me know if anyone has tried this. Would this affect the navigation screen or voice prompts?
