Since this thread is so damn difficult for me to find and i've been getting pm'd about the wire diagrams for this plug I thought I would bump it for people having issues with the iPod Blitzsafe adapter.

CJams - you are the man!!!!I just did my install based on your instructions and it came out perfect. I bought the Honda harness so I didn't have to cut any stock wiring. (plus, I suck at soldering and didn't want to try to do it in the car) soldered 2 pair of RCA's into it. I used male RCA's since the aux-3 had females and it was going to be mounted close. Installed my switch in the same place as yours. Added a Radio Shack 1/8" stereo female panel mount input in the storage compartment under the center armrest. Using the Belkin I-Pod charger in there with a cable running to the new input. The only issue I ran into is that the Radio Shack panel mount socket doesn't seem to grip a lot of mini plugs tightly. The only one I had that felt secure in there was a splitter into 2 RCA's so I had to do a little more cutting and soldering. If you ever come back to Tampa, I owe you a beer or two. Thanks for the great info.

I would just like to start by thanking everybody who's taken the time to document thier work. Being a new TSX owner I've had many questions, and this place seems to have all the answers.

Here's my question: Will this set-up work for a non-navi 05 TSX? (I'm assuming it will)

Also, If I didn't want to do this myself, does anybody know a custom installer who they'd recomend in the greater Los Angeles area?

CJams 12-12-2005 11:10 AM

YW bullyx2!!! Great job:thumbsup: I think there's a plug and play unit to do this now. I haven't looked in to it since I no longer need it. I think an ipod may be in my near future:whistle:.....unless I spring for other mods like jtso's exhaust...... almost off of mod restriction...tick tock tick tock

aparnold-I thought you had nav w/xm? If you don't have xm you can buy the shond3 and use it. But this should work for most tsx's.

Nope, Non-navi. I was under the impression that the XM shared the AUX input, and I'd have to disable it if I wanted to add the shond3.

Also, is the shond3 powered by the wiring harness, or do I have to run a seperate 12v+ground?

CJams 12-12-2005 12:34 PM

Oh, but you do have xm.... I see. Then you will need to do something like this. shond3 won let you keep xm. You need something like an aux3. This thread will work for you.

aparnold 12-12-2005 01:50 PM

OK,

So, I don't need the shond3. Just the Aux 3 patched in between the XM and the Head Unit. Simple enough. :) Am I right?

I need to get all my info straight before I go to the installer. I think I'm going to install a second HU (Probably an alpine) so I can have MP3 Cd playback, and I'll use the Aux input on the HU, (or the second on the Aux 3) to run my harddrive based mp3 player.

Thanks again for all the info.

Aux 3 Cheap!

Hey, just thought I'd let everybody know that I found the AUX 3 switcher at Chumbo.com for 45.99 (15 buck less than logjam!)

:werd:

Be sure to post pics if you add the head unit:) We like to see that stuffs!

I paid like $69 +tax for my Aux3. But I had it the same day since I bought it from a local stereo shop.

I think the part number is P/N 08A31-0E1-010. I ordered mine through a local Honda dealer. Looked into ordering it online, but the couple on line stores I saw were (in my opinion) overcharging for S/H. Once that was taken into account, local was no more expensive. About $45

OK, I just got back from the parts counter at the daler...

They didn't have the 08A31-0E1-010 part listed in the computer, but they did have the female 08A31-0E1-000! Which one do I need? Is this a Y cable, or just an extension? Can it be mounted in the dash, or does it need to be mounted in the trunk? I'm really confused at this point.

Also, does anybody have a large scan of the schematics availible?

aparnold 12-12-2005 04:44 PM

Ok, a little more research...

08A31-0E1-010 = Harness extension cable
08A31-0E1-000 = Harness Y Cable

Can anybody please confirm before I buy?

I do not know about the Y cable. I bought the top one. It's basically a 10" (appx.)extension cable. CJams actually did his without this, but I wasn't so comfortable. My Honda dealer didn't have it either, had to be ordered.

CJams 12-12-2005 06:10 PM

I probably should have used it, but oh well...

aparnold 12-12-2005 09:00 PM

OK, so I will order:

08A31-0E1-010 = Harness extension cable

I'll post some pics when I get the Head Unit Installed! :)
