finally began installing - thanks
well, after reading the threads for awhile i have begun my stereo install myself. i found myself with a jigsaw in one hand and a screw driver in the other. as my sig indicates, i had an unruly deck to install which required gutting a few metal brackets and jigsawing away some of the plastic. in the end, the deck looks better than perfect and everything is coming together. still need to install front components and do some finishing touches with lights and other stuff, but i am still basking in my first install ever. i just wanted to thank everyone for their sharing input and knowledge. i just got a camera cell phone so let me know if i should post any pics!?
sorry guys - i'm a drunken college student and somewhat lazy. i had a techie lookin at my second amp and he said it is fried unfortunately. i wanted to take pics of the finished product, but obviously that will not be for a bit. i'm finishing up painting so i'll throw some pics up tomorrow. by the way, i believe that the amp fried from my line out converter, so i will never comment on this type of setup ever again!! i think the rca inputs may be the problem, but i'm not sure because it stays in protection mode all of the time. anybody know if this amp (Kenwood Excelon) may be worth repairing or should i just get a new one? it was like $600, so i was kinda hopin it may be able to be fixed. shit happens and it's raining by me, so i can't work on anything today.

Best way to post pics is to have a site that can host the pics. Imageevent is what I used. There are others out there that are free, but I dont know which ones. POst the pics on the site and then create a post here in Acura-Cl.com. When you create the post use the "image" button and paste the URL of the pics. You get the URL by holding the shift or control button on your computer and pressing the right or left mouse key over the picture while in your website. This action will create a pop-up. In the pop-up choose the "create a new window". This action should lead to a new interent page to open with your pic there. Use that URL address and copy it. That is the same address you paste in the "image" button. Much simpler than it sounds. If you have AOL you can IM me Primo128 and I will take you step by step. There might be an easier way, but I dont know it. Good luck.
thanks for the help! i'll post some more in a few days - it's snowing here recently so i haven't been able to do much
