CL: factory navigation code won't work
factory navigation code won't work
This is my first post, but I've used this forum to fix my seat that wouldn't recline, and also to troubleshoot my srs system, which led to the dealer replacing the passenger seat belt buckle forFREE; thanks you all. I purchased the vehicle for a very good price, knowing it had numerous issues.
My latest dilema started when I had the transmission replaced. I doubt the trany replacement had anything to do with the navigation system problem, but I thought I' d mention it just in case. BTW this is the third trany in my 2001 cl-s, but at 215,000 miles hopefully it be good for the duration...... the trany shop disconnected the battery, so when I picked it up I tried to reset the nav and radio codes; well, I think I messed up by repeatedly inputting the radio code into the nav system. Now the radio will reset, but the nav system keeps giving me a "incorrect pin" error every time I enter the factory code. I pulled the dvd player and based on the unit serial # the dealer verified the factory code I've been using is correct. I called the dvd player mfg and they really weren't much help, just telling me to send the unt in for repair at a flat rate of $358; ouch. For that price, I'll go without the nav system. The A/C controls still work but the clock reads 1hour off and I can't figure out how to reset it. It would be great if someone could tell me how to reset the nav system, but any info on correcting the clock would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
BTW I've tried removing the dvd disc, disconnecting the battery overnight, reconnecting the battery and reinstalling disc.
