Explain this audio phenomenon...
After 6 weeks or so, I got my morel ovations installed up-front in my 05 tsx, 2 amps, 3sixty.1, and brahma12. All is securely mounted and sounds great. Very pleased I am. I went out with my son to buy some wine and beer-to go with my homemade pizza (rising back at the shack (recipe available!)). Music blasting away. I turned left; sub became less noticable. I turned right. Sub became very noticable. Left, right, left, right. No distortion-just more or less, pronounced. Thought it might be a power problem-and I wasn't flying around the corners. Whatz up with that? I am curious, audiow!
Bass will add or subtract from itself as it bounces around. You don't get this effect with higher frequencies, because they don't tend to sync up exactly, but with bass frequencies, you'll get areas with a huge "suckout" as the long waves meet at the same point and cancel each other out. This happens with my home stereo a lot, although, it's better in my new home. For the car, try repositioning the sub. If it's in the middle try moving it to one side. Try pointing it rearward. Also, try inverting the phase (just swap the + and - wires on the sub itself). In my previous car, I got a noticeable increase in bass by firing it rearwards and then reversing the phase to compensate. I guess I should mention that frequencies from the other speakers can interact as well, which might be one reason I had to worry about the phase.

I guess I would try listening for suckouts. Sit parked and recline your seat and move your head all round and see if there are dependent locations.
Ha!! Better the keg than the sub! Sorry for the late reply-But the sub stopped doing that rise and fall the next time I took the car out. I've completely re-done the install/layout-and will post pic-when I get my D50 back from my daughter.
FYI: Pizza receipe (why not?):
6 cups Heckers unbleached flour
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup very warm water
1 packet of your favorite powdered yeast!
1/4 warm water (for disolving yeast)
2 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoon vegitable oil
2 teaspoon salt
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Wait 2-3 minutes for yeast to thicken. Pour yeast, milk, oil, sugar, very warm water into a large mixing bowl (like 6qt bowl), mix thoroughly. Slowly add and mix flour-until very stiff. Turn out dough onto a floured surface and knead and add remaining flour (add more flour if needed) until stiff (10-15 minutes). Return to clean, lightly oiled (Pam if you have it) bowl. Spray/oil top of dough-so it won't dry out. Cover top of bowl with saran wrap and place bowl in a warm, dry place for 2-3 hours. Divide dough in half when done. Roll out (good luck).
Makes enough for 2 large pies. Add your 'stuff', bake at 420. Tap the keg, uncork the wine--and wash your hands before you fiddle with your audio install!
