EQ on 2000 TL

I am fairly new to this forum and I keep seeing posts regarding the need to bypass the EQ in order to install new speakers. What EQ is this? My Bose unit has seperate bass and treble buttons but no EQ. Can I r/r my factory speakers with no problem if I don't have this EQ?

Thanks in advance....

the eq is a hideaway unit... it is located right above your radio or right behind the ac controls in your dash.. your car has an eq... you can replace your door speakers without bypassing the eq.. i believe the only time you need to bypass the eq is when you are planning on using an after market amp to power the new door speakers..
