Eliminating noise from acessory power port?
So I have the power for a ipod interface plugged into the accessory power port (cigarette lighter adapter) in the center armrest. Of course, this creates a lot of noise ... there's a lot of buzzing, hissing, ground loop, and general unhappiness coming through the sound.
So what are my options to eliminate the sound? I could probably put a GLI in there and that'd get rid of most (all?) of the badness, but is tehre anything else to do?
If I cut that port's ground wire, and wire a new shorter one to some metal underneath the cupholder, would that clean up the sound?

You can improve the ground, and you can filter the positive. I've done iPod installs in that car with an SNHOND3, an iPod, and a cig adapter, and we needed both a GLI AND a inline power filter.
I used the Soundgate FLTR10, but there are others. Look up 12V DC inline power filter on google.
