Dynamat vs. Peel and stick
Has anyone tried the peel and stick aka: ice and water shield. I was looking at Dynamat today and the only difference I could see was the foil covering and the price.
Thanks,
Iggy

What makes one product better than the other? Is it the thickness or the composition of the material?
The Ice and water stuff is only about $50.00 to do the whole car. Is it really worth the money to buy fancy packaging and a brand name? It's kind of like store brand ibuprofen vs Advil - same stuff

i worked with the stuff in NSXnexts car b4 and i love it all you have to do is get an aproximate mesurement and heat it up as you remobe the backing and the best part about cascade is that when it cools its hard as a rock
it is more than 50 but itis worth it in the long run

I bought some Dynamat Xtreme on ebay for $107 for the shop pack 36 sq ft. I had heard that the Original Dynamat smells, but the Xtreme does not. Anyone heard that? I was going to buy Cascade, but the ebay price on the Dynamat was less than the Cascade stuff.

WELL here is my two cents on this:
I went with cheepie peel and stick sound deadener because i didnt want to pay the $100+ price for cascade. HOWEVER, now that i have gone the cheap way, i would advise ANYONE about to line their doors to do it with Cascade. The other sound deadeners all smell WAY too much, including what i used. Its not so bad when the AC is on, and not even that bad when the sunroof is open. But, when you have the sunroof set the the vent postion, it creates a certain kind of air draft that literally sucks the air through the the car from the door panels (remember, outside air does circulate in there from the rainwater holes at the bottom, and generally just from the space around the window glass) and boy let me tell you it smells like being in someone's roof on a hot day. I am kinda too lazy to pull the car all apart, remove the stuff and apply cascade so i am just dealing with the odor, but clearly if i had to start from scratch, its definitely worth the extra money to get the odor free stuff.
