DVD - TV interference??? HELP

Ok ---
So I orginally thought it was the receiver doing it -- but now I think its my DVD player. When watching a DVD I'll start getting a discoloration in the left corner of the TV taht comes sometimes about half way down. It goes away after leaving it off for a while... but often comes back. Just wathcing TV i don't have it.

I have a Panasonic 27" TV & a Panasonic CV50 (or whatever) 5Disc DVD Changer -- its hooked up via Component.

See pic for arrangement
(center speaker, receiver, TV, DVD, VCR)

would moving to _____ location help?
or putting something above it or under the TV?
HELP

Ok, here's what i think it may be, but i'm not sure because i can't see where all you speakers are placed. The discoloration can be caused by the magnets in your speakers if they're not shielded correctly. And since you probably listen to DVD movies through your speakers this is why it's only happening when you watch a DVD. See if it happens when you watch regular TV through your stereo speakers.

I doubt it's your center channel causing the distortion because it's pretty far from the tv. Is that a sub-woofer on the floor to the left?

What are you showing in the second pic?

that is exactly what it is. there may be a button on your tv to "degauss" it. If so, use it. If not you have to move your speakers away from the tv or consider buying some shielded speakers.

I agree SSS & CT TL. It looks like your speakers aren't shielded. If that doesn't work. Check the cables.

no no no---this happens when the receiver/speakers arent even on and im just listening via the TV....

I dont have a degauss button that i can find.

that is a sub down left -- which actually is always on (but not necessarily has sound coming from it.)

i dont get the discolor without the DVD taht i've noticed.

The second pic -- upper left is the discoloration

Also something that happens is the shielding on the TV's own speakers degrade over time...and that messes it up.

you may want to manually degauss your tv with products like this one. Here's a link to their homepage. I just did a quick search becasue i remembered there was a product like this. I've never done it so I'm not really recommending it but you may want to research it yourself. http://www.redmag.co.uk/html/product.html

Look for the RedWAND on this page - here's a pic. I also started to find other reasons this happens on tv's just by doing a brief search. I'm sure you can find the answer in less than 10 minutes.
