To all those that have dvd player other than PS2 , I need help in locating where to mount mine . Where have u guys mounted ur dvd players and if u have pics , that would be greatly appriciated . Custom jobs as well , I need to know where to mount mine .

I put my blaupunkt dvd ME-1 in the console between the rear seats. The player has a remote IR sensor that I placd next to the seat heater buttons. The unit required a little modification to fit, but it does fit and the console can be locked when needed.

 

Word...I was thinking about the ME-1 , how is it . I might buy the Boss 2800T , it has MP3 , VCD , SVCD , and built in tv-tuner and only 1 din sized .

 

I also installed the Blaupunkt ME1 but put it under the passenger seat. If you manipulate the power seat wiring it slides forward out of sight. When you hit the eject button, the carriage comes back far enough to load discs by feel. They give the dimensions in mm in the manual as 170 x 73 x 215 (W/H/D) but it fits great under the seat. I haven't had any skipping either. It plays DVD, SVD, VCD, CD and MP3s. I got mine for $159. Make sure you ground it well as I had noise until I ran a ground wire to the seat mount. I ran the remote IR to the coin holder between the seat heater switches. I already have the TV tuner with my Sam's box.

 

How about some pics SamDogDewey . Thanks for all the info . Does it get in the way of the seat operating back and forth , also the drawer comes out in front or the back of the seat .

 

Camera is at work. I'll take a couple pics tomorrow and post them. I've got the drawer coming out behind the seat and I haven't had any problems with the seat sliding back and forth.

 

Try this dvd player . It's what I use. The nice thing about is that it is COMPLETELY portable! Just like a walkman. I only put it in my car when I know I am going to use the DVD/Navi. Otherwise it stays at home where I use it in the house. It fits in the center console or any where in the car you want to lay it down. It is very light, etc.
