Hey guys,
All of you that have DVD players in your car, what do you have? I got the converter and the Blitzsafe but don't know what to get for a DVD player. Any suggestions?

 

DO NOT GO CHEAP AND GET PYLE!!!! It was the biggest waste of money, even though it was cheap. Lastnight it seriously woudnt eject my cd. I was pissed. Do yourself a favor and get something nice. Now i have to get a new one because im sooo fed up with making a crappy decision to go cheap when i bought one.

 

I bought 2 dvd players, both Audiovox...both big mistakes.

Should've heeded the warning signs from friends. Oh well, you spend and learn. I would like to know the answer to this question as well as i will be upgrading mine soon.

 

Interesting question. Most every DVD player for the car is made in China or Korea, and is designed by overseas engineers entirely and just private labeled for A/Vox, Pyle, Icon, Myron and Davix, etc. So one brand can use multiple suppliers and have a crappy unit and a good unit.

The best DVD players, honestly, are the ones actually made in Japan or made by Japanese companies instead of outsourced. The Alpine indash DVD is expensive, but that's why. The Eclipse 3101 small DVD is also expensive, and that's why. That one is actually my favorite unit right now, but it's not cheap. It doesn't play MP3s either, but it does play vertically, and it fits anywhere.

Short of that, the Directed, the Rosen, and some of the Accele and Icon are supposed to be pretty good. I'm sure Street Effectz can tell us the ones he's had good luck with from Icon.
