Yes. I'm going to be doing exactly this (AVIC N2 in my case) when it comes out in March. You need the Acura OE mounting kit for the MP3 player. It converts the storage case to a 1 DIN mount.

So I wasn't to far off the mark.

The other thing is I don't know if I should tap into the stock speaker setup or
just run a separate 2/3 speaker setup just for the unit.
