DVD Audio

Does anyone know of a good program to use (hopefully free) for burning DVD Audio? Does it actually sound that much better than regular CD's?

its more dealing with the encoding, but i think the dvd audio sounds the same as cd audio unless you're playing it on a bose stereo..then i think there is a clear difference in quality. If you're thinking for your TL...pretty much anything sounds kick ass in that car!

Most of the folks here use Discwelder Bronze ($99) and Steinberg Wavelab ($$$$). These are the 2 most frequently discussed programs on the forum. I believe there was a shareware program from Japan that someone mentioned in a post. You can dowload it and use it for 30 days but don't what the limitations are. Use the search feature and see what comes up.

Search search search

There are MANY threads on doing that which you ask...

Wavelab and Discwelder are the 2 programs that nearly everyone uses. I personally find Wavelab to be easier and better to use.... Using the search, you will find detailed instructions of exactly what to do.... (For making DVDs that hold tons of music on them...)

If you have an image of a DTS cd however, using any burning program, such as Nero will provide you with a viable CD that you can enjoy in your TL.

Hope this helps a little bit.

Recording standard CD's on DVD-A isn't going to sound any better than the original CD. DVD-A's are made using a higher bitrate and more channels so yes, they do sound better unless the original material was 2 Channel to begin with. Most DVD-A recordings are remixed for the format. Making them at home isn't going to do anything unless you just want more quantity on the disc since it does hold more data.

Few Questions:

How many songs can you fit on one of these?
Do you have to burn it on a DVD-R or can it be burned on a standard CD-R?

I do believe that the max amount of songs on any one DVD that you make is 99 in one group... You can FIT more PHYSICALLY (sometimes) but the car simply won't recognize more than that. Also, I don't THINK that anyone has been able to get the car to recognize more than one group (in a stock radio system, that is)...

As far as I know... ONLY DVD-R's will work. Although I have seen a little bit of talk about some people getting DVD+R's to work, I am skeptical about it until I see it for myself. (Use -R's... I KNOW they work.)

Burned CD's in the TL are like they are in any other cd player you have anywhere... Go to town and make as many as you like. If you come across some DTS CD images somewhere ( ), you can burn them as you would any other image file... HOWEVER, they typically won't play in you PC, as standard music CDs would. They need a DTS decoder which the TL has, and your PC does not. Just something to keep in mind!

I hope this helps.... ENJOY

Can one of you WaveLab wonders post a super small tutorial on how to turn a few albums into a multi Group DVD-A?

This program has too many options and I find myself getting lost.

PS: Source is either Retail CDs or MP3 Rips of said Retail CD if that helps.

Casper,

There are several threads, the process is easy, hee is one post:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...8&postcount=14

Just Create a Project, and 1 Montage for each folder. Add the music for each montage and save the montages. Add the Montages to the project. Burn

The annoying thisng about multiple folders is you can only access them manually. The player will jump to the next disc whenever it finishes playing the last song in any folder.
