double din all the way. Looks stock, preserves the factory appearance with the right dash kit, and gives you a large area to manipulate as you are driving. Further, the lack of a flip-folding or other movement keeps things from breaking.

The Pioneer AV-H is my personal weapon of choice.

Just like to say, this is taking my Acurazine posting virginity lol, first time =P but yea deffinitly the double din, i have a 2000 acura tl and i plan on getting a double din HU soon, they look cleaner..just an opinion though there really is no right or wrong choice here, whichever style you chose to run with wont hurt, i like the sleek*, well put together, look, so im choosing double din, for a more custom look i would go with the flipout... goodluck

and i have a flipout in my 2003 TL, and i hate it because when it opens up, it blocks the bottom half of the HVAC controls, so i say OP go for the double din

Double din if you can fit it, fills the space, and looks way nicer.

Im going the other way. I say flip-out for both of you guys on the 2nd and 3rd gen. Heres why. When the deck is on the top slot and the screen folds out and up, It's closer to your line of site. A double-din screen will be way lower taking your eyes further off the road when you're having to observe a map or say the caller ID in the 2nd gen if you decide to do a deck with blutooth. I had a Clarion fold out when i had my 03 CL 6-spd and you also get a tad more storage for loose papers and/or the radio's remote control. Just foor for thought guys.

Another thing you can close it when out the car and remove the bottom row keys and it passes for a normal cd player vs. someone seeing this nicw 6.5-7in double din DVD player in there.

Heres my deck when i moved it to my jdm B16b CTR 95 Civic EX/ ABS w/ Integra GS-R Leather seats. Youll see when it folds up the screen is way closer to you line of site.

I hope this visualizes what I was saying.

Regarding stealing...

The 2nd gen car is damn near impossible to break into and steal the HU. I know it is POSSIBLE but it would require incredible force and most likely destroy the HU in the process. Actually installing a HU in the 2nd gen takes a precise process to get to it, and even at full speed with an electric screwdriver, it takes about 10 minutes. IDK how many screws but its a bunch, including ones from all sides of the car in the front. Its a lot of fun.

+1 On Anti-Stealing.

Even now that i have Disassembled the Center Console about a dozen of times its Almost impossible for a Thief to stole the HU in a Rush in a 2G TL!! Theres a lot of steps to get to the main HU Frame that even now it takes me about 15-20min to unistall it at full speed with tools.

Its kinda OEM Thief Proof.... And im still in Favor for the Double Din, Can count a couple of Friends that have defective Automated Pop Off HU. In a Harsh enviroment like a Car. Multiple Moving parts in the slim profile of a pop off HU WILL BRAKE Not likely tomorrow but eventually.

not really especially when they do not care about breaking/scratching pieces around the HU

and personally at times i would rather have one that is easy to take, so they do not damage other interior pieces

Well it will destroy the HU if he uses a Handbar to try to brake the metal plates holding the HU either way it will not be that easier like some other cars.

And STILL there´s the Alarm to take care off first...

IMHO Stealing the whole car with a Gun is more doable than stealing the HU Only... too much hassle involved with removing the PITA to Install HU...

if you get the single din get a warranty for sure. the pull out screens are so fragile, easy to break, and such.

now personally id go with double din! and route the ipod/usb wire down through the little hole right by the seat warming buttons. it looks a lot cleaner!

I like this fold out. I'll still stick with fold out as it'll be close to eye level. Youi dont have to worry about where to put USB cable because it does BT Streaming.

120GB worth of 6G iPod with around 87GB of Music & Videos never leaves my car, Main reason why the HU DVD Player has never been even Used.
