That is the JVC KWAV61BT. Overall I think I'm going to like the set-up. But I didn't realize, (and my bad for not doing my homework) that each source would cost extra. So to wire the steering wheel controls cost me an extra $150, the satellite adapter was $80, the Bose reducer was $80, and on and on... Total bill was over $800! Now I need to go buy an iPhone to use the apps. But the iPhone adapter is another $100!!!

I'm sorry Kim50, I had it installed in a shop. I have no idea which adapters they used. But I know it had to have a speaker/amp adapter or else it would sound over-modulated or distorted.

Does the Navigation prompts still work? I just read I would lose the sound from the Navigation once I install and aftermarket radio.

No it doesn't - but it annoyed me anyway. I think there are some posts here that explain how to keep the voice prompts if you want.

So totally a newbie question. I have been looking through the forum but there are a LOT of posts...

Do I have this correct that you actually CAN install an aftermarket headunit and still have navigation working and that the only thing you lose are the voice prompts?

Thats correct. I am going to connect my navigation audio out to the audio in of my new reciever. I just did it yesterday but I used the wrong output (I used the onstar instead ).

AcuraCLTypS,

Where did you get the trim around the reciever? I got mine from Crutchfield but it does not allow the radio to sit flush with the face.

Nice to see another duel screen mod. I didn't have NAV so I did a touchscreen stereo and then got a NAV dash piece and installed a 7 inch tablet to make a duel screen. I then tethered my cell phone to the tablet via WIFI to have full internet in the car. I'll have to post a picture of it soon.
