TSX: Door speaker wiring help please??
Door speaker wiring help please??
Hey guys so recently I purchased my tsx and bought the car with no speakers
After taking apart the doors and the center console I noticed that the previous speakers were completely rewired.... The previous owner stated that the speakers were plug and play after mounting an amp. I did so and turns out all my door speakers only have bass in them
.
Question is what can be the reason for this?
- He also had an 7 channel equalizer that was mounted in the glove box where it also was spliced into many wires.
What I came to conclusions is that either I remove every wire completely and somehow start from scratch (literally) or I purchase a equalizer and hope that will plug and play.
please help me someone

i think i need pics of whats left or something but ill take a stab, ok well it sounds like starting over would be easier to me but... the eq should have been wired via rca's so if your not using it it shouldnt be and issue except that the mids/highs would have run to that and then a separate amp from the sub, so its possible that the rca that is run to the amp is on the subwoofer output from the head if it has multiple outs. if thats the case then just swap it on the head and see if it changes. on the other hand it sounds like you could have the settings on your amp all effed up or maybe even a blown amp.
Yea I can provide pictures, but as of now I dont have the sub connected due to the speakers acting out. This is what I have it at my amp all the settings are on minimum and my hi/lo adapter which is connecting the amp directly to my stock unit is also at low.
With these settings the speakers have no sound what soever and slowly I would increase each where only bass would still come out.
Could my amp be too weak for these speakers? I think 350w.

well since most head units are like 15w x4 im sure power wise your fine. sounds like your either are using the wrong rcas from the head or your crossover settings on your amp are wrong. what all gear do you have??
It's all setup like you regularly would for any sub and amp.
-Power from battery to amp
-Ground to amp
-Speaker wires to amp
-Speaker wires to radio
-Amp to hi/lo adapter to radio
I don't understand why it would do this because it's all correctly connected it's just not functioning how it's supposed to.
And the crossover on the amp I moved everything to little over 0

Sounds like there has been a lot of cutting and splicing with your set up
Frist thing, did the previous owner have a 4 ch amp or just a sub amp?
Next are you just installing a sub amp or a full set up?
In any case you will need to remove the center console to gain access to the area behind “not an ashtray” to have a look at the factory amp. Check to see if any of the wires to the amp have been spliced or cut and see if both the blue connectors are installed. Take a clear photo and post it. I will help you sort it out.
