Question Door Speaker Prices??

I want to just change all 4 door speakers and I was wondering.....

1. How much about does it cost to replace

2. Would i need more equipment besides the 4 door speakers

3. What brand would you suggest getting?

Thanks in advance

this is a pretty vague... your answer would depend on one your budget... 2 your intentions... and 3 your personal preference in music type, brand type.... but based on your question if ou want to just change ou your stock door speakers you will never some very efficent door speakers to get decent sound with the stock headunit (ie. polk)... and if you wanted to and an amp to push the door speakers you could and would get alot better sound that way... as far as brand i would suggest it depends on if you want to push these speakers with an amp or no.. if no amp i would say go with the polks.. if you are going to push them with an amp i would say... jl audio, dimond audio, focal, mb quarts, etc... as far as price... what is your budget... you can spend as much or as little as your would like...

I JUST DID THE SAME UPGRADE WITH SOME POLK GXR 6.5". A PERFECT MATCH AND ONLY 39 BUCKS AT FRY'S ELECTRONICS(NORMALLY 59.00) GOOD MATCH WITH THE STOCK HU.

are our stock speakers really that bad that it would justify replacing them with 40 dollar speakers?...oh and would adding a tweeter do anything to a stock headunit and door speakers?

the quality of any factory system speaker is poor(paper cone and light foam surroundings)as soon as you look at yours i'm sure you'll agree.
yes these Polk speakers are only 39 on sale.but try to find them for 60 or 70 and you'll feel better about them....J/K

well, yes and no. I've heard someone here on this forum remark before how much 'better' paper cone speakers sound in terms of 'warmth' but then again, that was his opinion. The way I see it, if you dont' turn your music up at all, then no, it wouldn't justify. but for most of us, we like our music 'louder' if not deafening and in that case, the paper cones can't handle the power we need from it.

adding a tweeter .. well, it'd probably sound weird unless you add a crossover to separate out the frequencies.. otherwise, you might have the tweeter AND the stock speakers playing the same frequencies. In theory, they might cause issues with the overall sound if you have an ear for that sort of thing.
