Hi everyone, I just recently got a 2003 TL-S and so far I love it! But I have come across a problem, I don't have a subwoofer. I have been looking through local classifieds for a wrecked or salvaged car to take the sub from, but I haven't been able to find one. So my question is, does anyone have any suggestions? Are there any replacement subwoofers I could use? I have all the hook ups and everything, just not a sub. Or what years would be compatible? Thanks in advance for help!

 

I just went through this... I have a 2013 CRV with Nav and their is limited bass. I went through getting a powered subwoofer (JL GT12 Basspro) or installing an amp/subwoofer that I already have. Went to Carpro and got help from an installer that has been there for 15 yrs. Here is what he told me. The powered sub is set and will be difficult to remove when space is needed. He suggested I get my amp/sub installed that way, I can disconnect the sub with box any time I want. I have a Phoenix Gold 500.2 and a 12" L7 Kicker subwoofer. He did say it might be overkill but he will tune it accordingly. I get the install done Wed and will update here.

what I am trying to say is you may want to go this route but with a lesser powerful amp/woofer. Right now, cost to install is about $300 with the tuning knob installed. According to what I understand, you may only need a 10" subwoofer.

From the research that I did, Basslinks are nice when they work but do not seem to have a good track record for longevity.
