TL: Does the Navi DVD need alignment?

Does the Navi DVD need alignment?
Have an '02 TL; the navi has been getting slower and slower in recent years. Maps sometimes don't load data when I scroll, it sometimes locks up for 5-10s when I'm typing, etc. Didn't used to do this.
Thought I read somewhere on here (but can't find it now) that the DVD can go out of alignment and needs to be repaired. Or maybe I should just try a cleaning disk. Thoughts appreciated.
