Does flip up dvd screen block temperature controls?

hey guys i am planning to buy a flip up dvd console, and ive noticed that all the in dash kits have the hole for the aftermarket deck on top and an extra slot on the bottom, for those of you guys that this, when ur screen flips up, is it annoying that it covers your temperature controls if it does, and is there any way to find a dash kit that has the slot on top and the hole for the deck on the bottom? thanks in advance

If you're good with fiberglassing or know anyone that is... I re-moded my whole middle console via fiberglassing. I encountered the same problem you did with a Kenwood KVT-m700. I ended up placing a DEI dvd/mp3/cd/tv tunner mounted flush in the arm rest with the IR eye on the mirror, glassing over the cup holders, and all the way up. Eventually found a decent spot to mount the unit, didn't cover anything when it's open but kinda left a blank spot when down. I've since re-done the whole thing and mounted a 7" flat where the radio used to go. PM me and i'll try and find some old pics if you want

yeah mine covers it up partially... but doesn't bother me... I can just stick my finger behind the screen and hit the Auto button and it doesn't block the temp or fan knobs.... and if I do need to get behind there, I just flip the screen down, no big deal...

I had the Pioneer AVH-P7800DVD, and it gets in the way of the AC controls. Like 02acuraTLS' Alpine IVA-d900, it has a button that will make it go flat for a few seconds to let you control the AC.

You can adjust the level of tilt on the screen, and depending on the angle you have it at, you may be able to slip your finger in between and still control it.
