It has pretty good SQ, nice D/A's, good knob control, it's clean looking if you turn off all the pookie lights, and the faceplate is beefy (aluminum rather than plastic).

Two tips:

1) To have TWO Unilink devices, like a changer and an Icelink, or an Icelink and XM, you need a separate box. The box is a XAC-30 and the only US source I can find that has any on the shelf is Crutchfield. (They sold like 100 pcs a year for 7 years, cause how many people want TWO changer, and all of a sudden, they can't get enough of the things : ) It's $100. Without it you can have only ONE Unilink device. Factor this into your budget.

2) If you get an XM adapter, get the XMSOND100 by Blitz, NOT the XMSOND110 by Audiovox. The Audiovox one is buggy and won't live on the XAC30 adapter with another device plugged in. Circuit City still has a lot of the 100's. (Please don't ask how I know all this, I'll have to start drinking and it's too early : )

Too early to drink????

Well right now I don't think I'll be needin anything like XM or a disc changer....and maybe for a long while. If I were to buy this it'll be my first Sony car cd player. Correct me if I'm wrong Sony owners but I've heard the rumor that these players skip easier than other brands. true?

That used to be true...they used to totally suck for that. But I haven't had any complaints from the guy who has this in his Range Rover, and it plays almost vertical. I think this one has a different transport than some of the others, and that's why it's rated to play at a 45 degree angle.
