Does anyone have oem hand free phone kit?

I know that acura has a hand free phone kit that hooks up to your cell phone. but the dealer and the customer relations desk can not tell me which set up will work for my nokia 3590. Does any one know which parts I need to order from the dealer.

I was doing a research on this before. But I gave up. Never be able to find the info on the web. I was hoping it will be using bluetooth just like the new TL.

i bought an ericson HBC-30 it works with any blue tooth enabled phone. i installed the activation switch on the center console. i use it all the time and you cant see anything but the MIC and the control switch. it's about 200 bucks.
im about to integrate it into the drivers door speaker to make it a little easier to hear.

The dealer has three part to order depending on the phone you have. It connects directly to the navi/stereo and work just like the voice system on the Navi. The thing is the third part (that plugs to my phone) is what the dealer is not sure about. The whole package costs about $120.00.

I'm confused. What about this from Wolfeacura, saying it costs $595 with installation?

No he is taking about the same thing. The part are $120. This is straight from the dealer at University Acura in fresno CA. The rest he is charging is labor to install. But if you know what you are doing it takes all of 15 min to put it in. 1 1/2 hours if you don't but have instructions.

How could the "labor" be $475?

I'm going to direct Wolfeacura over here from that other thread.

So any way to order it directly? I will not pay that $475 for something that only takes less than an hour.

The problem is that part of the kit you order completly depends on the cell phone you have. It is not a bluetooth. It a plug that connects directly to your phone then uses your car audio/navi system to use it.

blue toth takes no cables or wires of any kind, you install the unit and when your within 500 feet of the car the kit will connect itself to your phone. this allows you to use the handsfree kit to talk to and people can hear you on the mic.

I'm confused about a lot of it too, but I'm pretty sure it's a physical connection.

What I still don't get is what functions it includes. Like, with Bluetooth, you can use voice commands. Can you do that with the Acura kit too???

Confusing information from Acura Service

I have been looking for the Handsfree Cellphone kit for the TSX. At my local dealer, I was shown a 15page installation manual for a hands free cell phone adapter for the TSX with different adapters for your specific phone. It is two components and cost for parts is $228.00. He was not sure the cost for labor but assured me with a 15 page manual it was sure to be 350.00 plus. The installation is involved, he explained. This kit does not utilize the wonderful wireless bluetooth technology; therefore, a physical cable connection to your phone is required. He informs me that the only cars equipped with the bluetooth was the MDX and the new TL.

Here is the confusing part. I spoke with a head service/parts manager in Houston, TX who tells me that the present cars that ARE outfitted with the Bluetooth technology is the MDX, New TL AND THE TSX!!!!!! He claims that it is a two component $80.00 part and that he has it in stock. I am not sure if he knew what I was talking about but he assures me that the TSXs are bluetooth wireless enabled. This is the first I have heard of it and if he is right, that would be the answer to my prayers. PLEASE.... ANYONE, tell me he knows what he is talking about.

I guess that's why I've been confused too: A lot of what is said isn't clear, and of the things that ARE clear, some of them are contradictory.

So, we don't know. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?

Nah, the installation manual indicate it as a connector. not a bluetooth.

'04 TL will be a bluetooth.

Maybe Tim at H.A.W. can help us out. Let me shoot him an email and see what he knows about it.

I talked to Tim and he stated basically the same thing that others had. There is a kit and it is a special order and the installation instructions are quite long.

I stopped by the dealership to see if they could shed some light on this. After a pointless conversation with two of the parts guys I was able to talk to the parts manager and he was a great help.

There are 3 components you need to buy: Harness Kit P/N 08E02-SEC-200, Hands Free Telephone Kit P/N 08E00-ED0-200, and a phone cable this is dependent on the phone you own.

I have a copy of the installation instructions and it looks like a lot of work, but I think I am up for it. Before I start, I would like to know if this would interfere with me installing an MP3 player (IPOD). I will have to do some more research before starting this.

I been waiting two weeks for an awnser to the same question. I have been e-mailing Acura Cust Service and still have no anwser. But I do know that they use the same wires in the harness. So I think that you can only have one or the other.

Thanks, JR8 -- very useful info.

Do you know if this would allow voice-command dialing?

only if your phone allows it allready, even then you would need to activate that feature on your phone for each call you wish to make

This is just a fancy hands free headset (or speakerphome to be exact), all of the phones funtions are still controlled by the phone itself.

Thanks for the additional info, bheywow.
Anybody know if there's any aftermarket set-up that you can get where you can do the voice-command dialing without having to activate it each time, i.e. where it's more of an automatic or default thing?
