Does Acura care(warranty) if we modify/add sound system/electronics?
Does Acura care(warranty) if we modify/add sound system/electronics?
I am about to add a sound system but I'm starting to wonder, what if one day, I take my car in for service...such as maintenance, oil changes, etc. and the service man sees I got a thick 4gauge wire running from battery into the car, and into the system...
would he secretly document on the Acura database that "Owner has voided electrical warranty" ??? so that if I ever experience problems that "could" be related to adding a sound system, the dealerships will say, "sorry, but you "modified" your car..." ?
or would they "legally" have to prove that whatever we did, screwed up the car?
cause what if you added say the Injen intake and the DC header...then somehow ur motor threw a rod.... how can the dealer "prove" these mods were a result of throwing a rod? (perhaps logically explain you attempted to "make more power" ?)

they legally have to prove that something did whatever to your car due to your own error. if you take it to a body shop and get it installed, they are taking the liability for the install so no worries.
im not sure about if they document it, i don't think they do, but i wouldn't be surprised if some places do.

I had backup sensors installed into my car then I had the system put it and when they installed it they accidentally yanked the wire out and it had to be rewired and acura said they couldnt prove it so they fixed it for free.
