Does 245/40/19 tires FIT??

Just got some 19" rims last night. The rims are 19x8 with +50 offset. Right now the rims is on 235/35/19's tires. I put the rims on last night and is like a 4x4. I have so much room to play with. I have a feeling I'm able to fit 245/40/19's tires. What do you guys think???? Please help. I am not looking to lower my car. Only bodykit is on right now.

Welp, the 40 series tires you are talking about are actually taller than the 35's on top of having a thicker sidewall. That's the price of bigger wheels as well. You may wish to indeed lower it a tad. I have 18x7.5's with a 55 offset and 40 series and I ended up getting springs to get the car down some and get rid of the wheel well gap...

And there wasn't a wheel well gap when you had the stock wheels/tires?

'Cuz the only way you could have more of a wheel well gap after putting on some larger rims/tires is if the circumference of the larger wheel/tire combo is smaller than that of the stock wheel/tire, in which case I think said wheel gap isn't the least of your worries...

Just wanted to point this out because people are always talking about how their car has the "4x4" look after putting on a combo of larger-diameter rims/lower profile tires; unless your aftermarket combo has a smaller overall circumference than the stock set, that "4x4" look is strictly a visual illusion.

The real illusion comes from the smaller sidewall height...When switching to a lower profile, it made the gap "appear" much larger than it really may have been...

If you think you have the 4x4 look, you should really reconsider lowering your car. It does a lot for looks, as well as a little for performance.

To answer my own question...245/40/19 tires will fit! I just got those tires last night. My car is not lowered, just with bodykit. Very smooth and no rubbing at all. And I don't have to worry about damaging my rims as much now. And the 4x4 look is gone. Also a good thing going with 245/40/19 tires is that you will save alot of milage. When you are going 60mph, you are actually going 75-80mph. Just remember only 19x8 will work, 19x7.5 will not.

That probably has more to do with the offset of yor rims rather than tire size. with the correct offset you shoudl not rub. I have 235/35-19's on my dropped ride sont rub at all even with a fully loaded car.

Also I for one want a speedo that is as accurate as possible, but I doubt your speedo is 20 mph off. One thing that will be for sure, with a bigger overall diameter, and probably weight, acceleration will definitely take a hit.

245/40/19

I'm also considering going w/ this set up 245/40/19 my wheel config will be 19X8 w/ +51 OFFSET. I like the look, but I'm also concern about ride quality. I don't want loose that level of comfort.

I'm currently sitting on 18X7.5 w/ 45 OFFSET 225/40/18 My ride today is not bad at all, only while driving downtown streets.

I have Teins SS. As you know I can adjust the height of the ride to fit this config.

Any feedback is appreciated guys!

Thanks for the feedback guys.... might just stick to what works best. 235/35/19. I don't to care for the thin side wall look, are there any good tires with a taller "visual" side wall for the above set up ?

well inorder to get a taller look tire you will need a tire with a taller sidewall there for throwing off the correct diameter and throwing off the speedo

i completely agree with checking tire and wheel sizes to match a stock size.

i've had many friends who just wanted bigger wheels and tires which threw off the speedo calibration.

local cops were all too happy to write the ticket.

run a search through ixquick.com for "tire size calculator" to get a good idea on how much your rim will change your measured speed to actual speed.

(i think the one i use most is in a miata website)

I've utilize those tools in the past, I'm sticking to 235/35/19 I just don't like the very slim/fine side wall. I like the 225/40/18 side wall I have now, give me a bit more of a "softer" ride.
