TSX - JL-XR100-CT -Tweeters just arrived today.
Do I use the in-line, high-pass filters that comes with the tweets in addition with replacing them or do I just replace the new tweets with the old ones and get rid of the filters?

Are they on the OEM amp?
The OEM amp has a crappy series capacitor on its output. Adding an external tweeter SHOULD involve taking the OEM amp apart, bridging the caps with solder to effectively remove them from the circuit, and then using the JL HP filters.

If you put a capacitor in series and then a coil across and then a capacitor in series, like you have (you don't know it, but you do), then you have an 18dB high-pass filter.
Because we didn't pick these component values to work together, we don't know if the xover filter point is right or worng (odds are it's not what the speaker designer would ahve picked) and we don't know what the alignment is like - does it have a steep boost before rolloff? DOes the filter "ring" and cause elctromagnetic resonance and thus overempasized highs at the xover point? Or does it leave out valuable signals?
We don't know. If you called JL Audio and told them (assuming you got them to believe the info on the OEM amp) they'd freak out.
But if it sounds good to you, honeslty, I'd leave it. If your tweeters blow, which it's just about impossible to think that they would, it's 100x more likely that they are leaving out music- but if they do, then mod the amp before you put in the warranty replacements.
I personally think that adding tweeters to the OEM system says more about your HF hearing than it does about the amp - those OEM tweeters might be the best driver in the whole car - but if they sound good to you, then rock on.

The box states: These tweeters must be used with an appropraite high-pass crossover filter. If they were purchased individually, use the in-line, high-pass filters included. Failure to use an appropriate filter will result in damage and/or completed failure of the product and will not be covered under warranty.
